Audience Research

Audience Research
By Dimitri, Sedi, Jerome and Michael
The following conversation is between the members of the group. In the conversation, we discuss what possible ideas we have for the music video and how we can bring our ideas together to make a presentable and professional music video.

This graph shows that more males than females did the questionnaire. As a result of this, maybe as a group we should target the males slightly more but have components that would attract the females as well.

The Graph shows that people view music videos mostly on the internet. This could be through websites such as YouTube. Therefore we should put our final video on a website such as YouTube as it is an well known website where viewing videos is easy.

This is graph shows people do not mind whether the music video is with narrative or just a performance from the artist/band. Therefore we can maybe add a mixture of both into the music video to attract both of those who said yes to narrative and who said yes to just a performance of the band.

This graph shows that the audience prefer to have the artist/band in the music video. This means as a group we definitely have to have the band/artist in the music video to meet the audiences needs.

This graph shows that the audience would like the video to relate to thew lyrics of the song. This means whatever song we decide to do, as a group we must find a story line to the music video that relates to the lyrics of the song.

This graph shows what genre of music the audience who took the questionnaire listen to. Pop and Rock were the highest with R&B just behind. As group, we should try to find a song that has maybe a bit of all of these genres to meet the needs of the audience. By finding a song like this, we would be making all of these audiences members happy.

This graph shows if the audience like the music video to have special effects within it. Most of the audiences said that they do prefer the music video to have special effects within it. As a result of this, as a group we must find a way of using special effects sensibly without making the music video unprofessional.

This graph shows the age of those who took part in the questionnaire. Most of the audience were 16-20. This means as a group, we need to try and target this age group through the music video. This can be done by looking at what people between these ages like to see within a music video and what their hobbies are.

This graph shows how often the audience watch music videos. The results show that most of the audience watch music videos on a weekly basis. Second highest was Daily. This means that as group, we must add features into the music video which will want the audience to view the music video on a Daily and Weekly basis.
